Nature as art at Louisiana

Window at Louisiana

When I feel wound up of stressed because life can be stressful, I think about this window. It´s installed at my favorite museum, Louisiana. This particular window is the ultimate cross over between Asian tranquility and Dansih design. Imagine sitting at a low sofa watching the changes of the branches in the wind and the quiet ripple of the water. If this would ever bore you you can always look at David Hockneys A bigger Grand Canyon. It´s not the best of Hockneys works as far as I think, but it is _grand_. This room used to be the home of another favorite of mine, The Man Striding by Giacometti. His works always makes me wonder about his perception, like if perhaps there was something wrong with his eyes. There´s a friendly uneasyness to his work that I admire.

There´s a great exhibition there right now with Cézanne and Giacometti, at first it seemed like an odd matching but after reading a bit about the two and seeing “them” together it turned out to be a very inspiring match making. It seemed their careers were parallel to some extent, they both dealt with similar topics. They both spent a lot of time copying each others and other artists work. Giacometti has made a lot of comments about Cézannes work and so on. I´ve always felt that there was some sort of lightness to Cézanne but I wsa proven wrong. A lot of his paitings are kind of dark and intense, not just portraying nature is a colorful way. It appears I need to upgrade my art history knowledge to at least 2.0.

I absolutely love that window view.
